Emergency plumbing
Need an emergency plumber in Westchester? Water you can’t stop, sewage backing up, a gas smell or no heat in freezing weather: what counts, what to do first, and who to call at any hour.

Frozen pipe repair across Westchester at any hour: frozen runs thawed without flame and checked for splits, and burst pipe repair when the pipe has already given way.
Never use a blowtorch or open flame on a frozen pipe. Keep the faucet open so melting water has somewhere to go, warm the area gently, and call us. A frozen pipe may already have split, and the leak only shows once it thaws. The full thaw steps are in our preventing frozen pipes guide.
A pipe that has frozen but not burst is the smaller job, and the one worth calling about early. On a frozen pipe repair visit we find the run that froze, thaw it without flame, then put the line back under pressure and check it for splits before we leave. If it froze because it runs through a cold spot, we insulate it or reroute it so the same pipe does not freeze next winter.
Pipes freeze in the same places in most Westchester houses: additions over crawl spaces, sinks on exterior walls, garages, and hose bibs left connected over winter. Our preventing frozen pipes guide covers how to protect them, and the thaw steps you can safely try yourself.
When the pipe has already split, the first job is stopping the water and the second is burst pipe repair done properly, with the damaged section cut out and replaced rather than clamped and left. KBD takes frozen and burst pipe calls across Westchester County around the clock, including nights, weekends and holidays.
No water at a faucet in a cold snap: the frozen run found, thawed without flame and checked for splits.
The damaged section cut out and replaced, not clamped and left.
Leaks inside the structure located with the smallest opening we can make.
Hose bibs and exterior runs that split over winter.
Pipes in crawl spaces, garages and exterior walls insulated or rerouted so the same run does not freeze again.
Seized main valves replaced so the next emergency has a stop button.
Tell us what’s going on. If water is coming through, shut the main valve off first — we can help you find it.
Right away for emergencies, and at a time that suits you for everything else.
We find the cause, explain it in plain terms and give you the price before any work starts.
The job done properly, the space left clean, and an honest word if anything else needs attention.
Still not sure? Phone us — asking costs nothing.
Shut the main water valve, then open the lowest cold faucet in the house to drain the system. Keep away from water near outlets and wiring, and call us at (914) 233-3000 at any hour.
Treat it as one. A frozen pipe may already have split, and the water arrives when it thaws. A frozen pipe repair done before then is a much smaller job than a burst pipe repair after it, so if a faucet stops running in a cold snap, call us, day or night.
Ice expands and splits the pipe wall while the water is still solid, so nothing escapes. The flood arrives when the ice melts and the split opens. That is why a thawed pipe should be watched and checked.
The ones in unheated spaces — crawl spaces, garages, attics, exterior walls and basements under an open hatch — and outdoor spigots left connected to a hose over winter. Our preventing frozen pipes guide covers how to protect them.
Yes. In Yonkers, the city’s Department of Public Works says property owners are responsible for protecting both the water pipes and the water meter from damage. Its advice: it is colder near a basement floor than at the ceiling, so let warm air reach the meter, and if the meter sits in an outdoor pit, make sure the cover fits and is not cracked, and that the pipes and valves inside do not touch the concrete walls. Outside Yonkers, check with your own water supplier. If the pipes around the meter freeze or split, we repair them; if the meter itself is damaged, call your water supplier first.
