Overview

The delivery crew drops it off. Someone still has to plumb it in

Most appliance deliveries end at the kitchen door. The connection — the shut-off valve, the supply line, the trap, the drain height, the anti-siphon rules — is plumbing, and it is where the leaks start when it is rushed.

KBD handles appliance installation and fixture hook-ups for Westchester homes, apartments and co-ops: new units connected to code, old ones disconnected and taken out of the way, and every connection tested under pressure before we pack up.

What we handle

What we connect

Dishwashers

Supply, drain and air gap connected and tested, old unit removed.

Washing machines

Hot and cold valves, hoses and standpipe checked for the new machine.

Fridge water lines

A proper valved line run for ice makers and filtered water.

Toilets, including wall-hung

Carriers, in-wall tanks, wax rings and flanges set right.

Sinks, faucets & disposals

Kitchen and bathroom fixtures installed and the traps reworked to suit.

Showers & tubs

Valves, spouts and waste connected during a renovation or a swap.

Good to know

Worth taking care of at the same time

  • Shut-off valves that are seized, dripping or missing entirely
  • Braided steel supply lines in place of old rubber hoses
  • A trap or standpipe that was never the right height
  • Drain lines that gurgle or drain slowly once the new unit runs

Buying the appliance first?

Send us the model and a photo of where it is going. Most installation surprises — the valve in the wrong place, a drain that is too high, a gas line that needs moving — are visible before the delivery arrives.

You get the price

We find the cause, explain it in plain terms and give you the price before any work starts.

STEP 04

We fix it and clean up

The job done properly, the space left clean, and an honest word if anything else needs attention.

Questions

Appliance & fixture installation: common questions

Still not sure? Phone us — asking costs nothing.

Do you remove the old appliance?

We disconnect it and move it clear so the delivery or disposal crew can take it. Say so when you call and we will plan the visit around the delivery.

Can you run a new water line for a fridge or ice maker?

Yes — with its own shut-off valve so the line can be isolated later without closing the whole kitchen down.

Do you install wall-hung toilets and in-wall tanks?

Yes. The carrier and the rough-in have to be set accurately, which is exactly the kind of work that is miserable to correct afterward.

Will you connect a gas range or dryer?

Gas appliance connections are licensed work and we do them — see our gas line installation page for new lines and conversions.
